Mickey and Goofy fill Paradise Bay Lagoon

An addition to the "Horizons" post

At the Horizons1.com site, there is a links page that includes a link to "Mesa Verde Times".  Here's what Horizons1.com has to say:
When Horizons closed then re-opened, a group of self-proclaimed 'Disney dorks' went on a mission to take as many photos and videos of the ride as possible. But not from inside the ride cars! These guys hopped out and took an amazing adventure in, around, above, below and behind the sets to capture the magic of the ride that they knew would disappear at any moment. They were also the last members of the public to ride the ride...."we just stayed in the ride for 8 hours at a time. We ate dinner there and even washed ourselves in the Mesa Verde Kitchen scene waterfall." Warning! This blog of hundreds of pictures will absorb hours, so plan ahead!! Humorously written by two of the guys who clearly loved the attraction.
Absolutely amazing site.  I have linked it under our "Other News Sites" section.

Horizons - If we can dream it...

I knew this happened yesterday as well, but the 26th birthday of Horizons was yesterday.

Horizons was one of my most favorite attractions at EPCOT (yeah, I still capitalize it).  Growing up and going to Disney, it was always a special part of our trip to the park.

One of the greatest tribute sites I've seen, Horizons 1, made mention of the 26th birthday.  On their site they have links to Martin Smith's tribute videos and some music, all of which I highly recommend.

Mickey Mouse - break it down

From Disney's official parks blog...

So cool!

WDW's Magic Kingdom's 38th birthday!

Today is the 38th "birthday" (1971 baby!) of the Magic Kingdom at WDW (and also the 27th birthday of Epcot - 1982).

There is a video posted by Disney's official (and new) blog here: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2009/10/a-model-day-at-the-park/

It's a tilt-shift video that uses pictures that have had the tilt-sift effect applied.  Basically, that effect makes everything look miniature.

I got kinda teary-eyed at the end.  Yeah, I know, I'm a sap.

Enjoy!
